The workflow, stage by stage
- Stage 1
Open the chart against the appointment
The record inherits the patient, treatment type, planned areas from the consultation, and the consent status for that treatment. Missing consent blocks charting rather than being caught later.
- Stage 2
Record what was actually delivered
Neurotoxins chart per area in units with dilution; fillers chart per syringe, product, plane and volume; lasers chart passes, fluence and spot size against Fitzpatrick type; facials chart the protocol steps completed.
- Stage 3
Attach lots and deduct inventory
Each product used is drawn from an open vial or syringe with its lot number and expiry, and the deduction happens as the chart is written, not at month end.
- Stage 4
Sign, lock and schedule the aftercare
The provider signs; the record locks with an amendment trail. Aftercare goes out immediately and the treatment-based follow-up interval is scheduled from the chart.

- Can charts be edited after signing?
- Signed records lock. Changes are stored as amendments with the author, timestamp and prior value retained.
- How are lot numbers captured?
- Vials and syringes are opened once in inventory with lot and expiry; charting against them attaches those details to the record automatically.
- Does charting handle non-injectable treatments?
- Yes. Laser, energy, peel and facial protocols each have their own structured fields rather than a free-text note.
