On these inputs, Neurotoxin — glabella contributes the most per room hour at 370. Rooms and provider hours are the constrained resources in a clinic, so the ranking here — not ticket price — is what should drive how the diary is built.

Rent, marketing and overhead are excluded on purpose: this compares treatments against each other, it does not calculate profit. Figures are illustrative and not financial advice.

How to use it well

  • Use real appointment lengths from your diary, not the times printed on the menu.
  • Include turnover: cleaning, resetting and notes keep the room unavailable.
  • Use fully loaded provider cost per hour, or the effective hourly value of a commission split.
  • Run the exercise per provider grade — the same treatment can look very different delivered by a different role.
  • Re-run it whenever product cost changes. Consumable inflation moves injectables faster than facials.

Common questions

What is revenue per room hour?
The contribution a treatment produces for each hour it occupies a treatment room, after consumables and the provider cost for that time. It is the only figure that lets you compare a short injectable appointment with a long device treatment fairly.
Why include turnover time?
A room is unavailable during cleaning, resetting and notes, so that time belongs to the appointment. Excluding it overstates the economics of every short treatment on the menu.
Should provider cost be the hourly wage?
Use fully loaded cost per hour — wage plus employer costs — or the effective hourly value of a commission arrangement. Rent and overhead are deliberately excluded so you are comparing treatments, not calculating net profit.
Does this replace an accountant?
No. It is a planning aid for comparing treatments on the same basis. It is not financial advice and does not account for tax, overhead allocation or your local circumstances.
